The Rev. P. "Kelly" Mahon, Rector [email protected] 541-386-2077 Rev. Paul “Kelly” Mahon is a native of San Diego, CA. He is a lifelong Episcopalian, who sang as chorister and served as an acolyte as a young person. After earning a B.F.A. at Chapman University he worked a number secular jobs in the secular world, ranging from paralegal to house painter and handyman. During that same time period from 2008 and 2015 Kelly served as a youth minister at St. Bartholomew’s Poway and Trinity Escondido. After several years of discernment in community, Kelly relocated to Austin, Texas in August 2015 to attend seminary, graduating with an M.Div. from Seminary of the Southwest in 2018. He began serving St. Mark's as a deacon in August of 2018, and was ordained to the priesthood here by Bishop Patrick Bell in November of 2018. Since October of 2021 Kelly is serving as the presiding of the Standing Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Eastern Oregon. His non-church interests include cooking, traveling, old cars, music and community theater. |
Sue Jenkins, Parish Administrator [email protected] 541-386-2077 Sue is a cradle Episcopalian. She moved to Hood River from northern Illinois in 1991. She began as a volunteer in the parish office in 1992. Since then, she has served nine parish priests over 31 years. She’s active in Women’s Guild, is Altar Guild director, and serves as a minister of worship, newsletter editor and pledge secretary. She also volunteers at the Western Antique Air & Auto Museum. She enjoys birdwatching, her three grandchildren, and the beauty of the Columbia River Gorge. |
R.I.P dear boy 2009-2021
Twelve-year old Jake began coming to the office with Sue when he was 12 weeks old, taking up residence under her desk. At first, she brought him once a week. About three years ago he began regular office hours. He’s proven to be a terrific comfort/therapy dog and a happy greeter. Jake sat in on the 12-step groups which meet at St. Mark’s, offering quiet companionship. He broke the ice for folks who came through the office for Emergency Vouchers, and was just good company. There is a big hole under the desk....
